The “Moxie Love” flower essence was formulated by a group of herbalists from Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism (CSCH) to support the Moxie community in this time of great collective grief over the loss of Andy Clark, owner of Moxie Bread Co., fearless leader, and community builder.
The depth of Andy’s caring when others needed it most was one of his greatest gifts. Andy was never afraid to try and then try again and again. He showed up ready to engage, ready to challenge and to be challenged, ready to love, and ready to tackle any problem. He was ready to listen and understand. Andy always came from a place of love and kindness and with his mind and heart open. Protective and supportive of his community, Andy saw each person as they were and provided a safe space for everyone to be or to grow–to be a human being in his presence. There is so much to grieve. We must process our grief and our trauma and carry his light turned on in our hearts. We must tend ourselves and one another, gently and with kindness.
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting–
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
– Wild Geese, Mary Oliver
❀ The “Moxie Love” flower essence was formulated by a group of herbalists from Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism (CSCH) to support the Moxie community in this time of grief. We hope this flower essence formula can be an ally to you in these tender, scary, and uncertain times.
❀ Flower Essences are forms of vibrational medicine. They are physically dilute, so they work vibrationally, impacting the vital energy and emotions and affecting the physical body indirectly. Each flower brings us its own meaning, message, and vibrational healing pattern. They work to bring us back to a place of balance.
❀ Flower essences are liquid extracts used to address emotional well-being, soul development, and mind-body health. They are safe for all: babies and children, animals, plants, our elders.
❀ Flower essences are most often taken 4 drops, 4 times per day. This is because the body needs to be introduced to that flower’s particular vibration 4 times per day to start creating shifts in the individual. Use this formula liberally.
❀ The “Moxie Love” formula contains Comfrey, Pink Yarrow, and Rescue Remedy:
- Comfrey is a gentle wound healer on the physical and emotional level. It addresses shock, grief, and trauma by holding you, wrapping you in a green gooey salve, and tending the wound, new or old.
- Pink Yarrow aids in discerning one’s own emotions from what’s being absorbed from others. Sometimes it’s hard for us to determine which feelings originate from ourselves and which stem from others who are also experiencing grief. Pink Yarrow helps us maintain energetic boundaries while remaining compassionate and connected to our loved ones and community members.
- Rescue Remedy is for everyone. This five-flower combination has a universal effect because it addresses a transcending archetypal reaction pattern of humankind. This formula is impactful in moments of stress, shock, overwhelm, panic, fear, pain, and other emotions that are triggered in a fight/flight/freeze/fawn state. Right in the name, we can see how these flowers can show up to support us in times of grief.
❀ Optional Grounding Practice: We hope this flower essence formula can be a gentle support to you in these heartbreaking, confusing, and uncertain times. It can be helpful, but not necessary, to engage in a grounding practice while working with this formula or other flower essences. Find what feels good for you, whether it is planting your feet on the ground, finding a quiet place to sit, taking some deep breaths, setting intentions in your mind or out loud. Let your intuition guide you.
