What this in-person Fundamentals program prepares you to do

FOUNDATIONAL KNOWLEDGE

Build a strong foundation in Western herbalism, including anatomy and physiology, pathology, materia medica, integrated nutrition, botany, medicine making, and the Vitalist framework taught at CSCH.

PRACTICAL HERBAL SKILLS

Begin working with herbs in concrete ways through plant identification, preparation methods, herbal pharmacy, formulation basics, and structured observational and study practices.

NEXT STEP READINESS

Complete the first stage of the CSCH certificate path and be prepared to apply to Advanced if you want to continue into deeper study. Fundamentals is the beginning of the path and it gives students the academic and practical base needed for later work.

CAREER ADJACENT APPLICATION

The Fundamentals program gives you a strong foundation in medical herbalism and nutrition that you can carry into work in herbal, nutrition, or health‑supplement settings, and it prepares you to continue into CSCH’s Advanced Medical Herbalism Program if you choose.

“When I decided I wanted to study herbalism, there were a lot of options, but CSCH was by far the most extensive and in-depth program I found. Plus it was In person. I have learned more in this program than I knew there was to learn! We learn about the plants and how they are used medicinally but we also learn botany, plant identification, body systems & patterns, A&P, interview skills, medicine making, practical apothecary skills, how to hold space, herb safety and interactions, research skills and so much more!”

GRADUATE

COLORADO SCHOOL OF CLINICAL HERBALISM

"Being immersed in a community of people who are just as excited as I am about herbs is a fertile environment for study. CSCH provided the rigorous schooling I was looking for, but also resources and relationships that I’m still tapped into after graduation.”
