About the program

Our popular Fundamentals of Medical Herbalism class is also offered in the evening. The Evening track of Fundamentals covers all of the same material as the Day track. Field Botany courses begin in late May. The centerpiece of this certificate program is a 144-hour class integrating physiology, pathology, herbal actions, and Materia Medica. The class begins with the basics of the Vitalist paradigm of healing, then moves through the various tissues and organ systems of the body, along with the herbs most commonly used to support and influence them. Also included in the program are holistic nutrition, introductions to botany, herbal medicine-making, plant identification, and flower essences; and a course focusing on herbs of commerce.
